PARC, tree board to meet Tuesday

The Parks, Arts &Recreation Commission (PARC) and Tree Board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 110 E. Third St.

The PARC and Tree Board acts as advisors about parks, arts and recreation facilities and programs in the city. The tree board acts as advisors on policy matter for managing trees on publicly owned lands.

Edmonds

Garage sale to benefit fire safety

The annual Edmonds Fire Safety Foundation fundraiser garage sale is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 520 Forsyth Lane.

Proceeds benefits firefighters in Edmonds.

Free children’s musical show

Dana and Rowdy, an interactive musical show, has scheduled a free concert at noon on Tuesday at Legion Memorial Park at the corner of Alverson Street and W. Marine View Drive in Everett.

The children’s show will feature the dog, “Rowdy,” and owner “Dana,” as they introduce children to a variety of musical types.

Family movies planned at library

Families are invited to drop in for a movie night at the Lynnwood Library.

The first movie night is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the library at 19200 44th Ave. W. Movies will be rated G or PG. Another movie night is planned for Aug. 15.

Mill Creek

Bring documents for free shredding

A day to destroy documents containing private information is being planned in September by Mayor Donna Michelson.

The free event, called Document Destruction Day, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at Mill Creek City Hall, 15728 Main St.

People are limited to four boxes of documents for destruction. Staples, paperclips and fasteners should be removed.

The purpose of the event is to help deter identity theft.

Food bank needs school supplies

The Sky Valley Food Bank is collecting donations of school supplies to help students in the Monroe School District.

People can donate new backpacks and other school supplies or money to purchase the supplies at Sky Valley Food Bank, P.O. Box 724, Monroe, WA 98272. Checks must be designated as “School Days.” Donations are needed before the last two weeks in August.

Run-A-Muk set for Old Town

A fun run through Old Town Mukilteo is planned for late next month starting at the Rosehill Community Center.

The run, called Run-A-Muk, is scheduled for 8 a.m. Aug. 25 at the community center at 304 Lincoln Ave.

Day-of-run registration is scheduled from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. The course features views of Mount Baker and the Olympic Mountains.

Snohomish

Pancake breakfast planned at center

Snohomish seniors plans to offer a pancake and waffle breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 4. The cost is $4 for adults and $3 children.

The breakfast includes pancakes, waffles and French toast (all with strawberries and whipped cream optional) eggs to order, biscuits and gravy, ham or sausage, juice and coffee or tea.

Proceeds from this event help support the 41 programs and services offered at the Snohomish Senior Center.
