Toddlers start really jabbering when they figure out easy words and then move on to hard ones, according to a new study. The study failed to explain why toddlers use the word “no” a lot, yet seem oblivious when it’s spoken to them.
Meanwhile, parents may see their vocabularies decrease after 1,000 readings of “Green Eggs and Ham.”
Thou shalt see “The Ten,” a new movie about the Ten Commandments – at least if you have a twisted mind, Robert Horton writes.
A couple more directives for moviegoers:
Leave early if you see “Arctic Tale,” a nature documentary about polar bears and walruses. Horton says it can’t resist getting preachy in its final scenes. Think Al Gore. There’s something about giant blocks of ice that makes you think of Al Gore.
Shield thine eyes from “Bratz,” a movie inspired by a line of dolls. It’s like “Transformers,” only replace awesome robots with teenage girls whose only power is to create cheesy music videos.
Avoid any Jennifer Lopez movie that also features the current man in her life. “El Cantante” provokes comparisons to “Gigli,” which is kind of like how “GoodFellas” drew comparisons to “The Godfather,” only the exact opposite.
