Seminar helps military retirees
Military retirees from all branches of the U.S. armed services and their spouses are invited to a free seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. The event will be in the gym and fitness center.
Topics such as policies, procedures and the latest information on entitlements and changes to programs and services for retirees will be covered. Attendees should enter through the Charles Porter gate off Ault Field Road and Goldie Avenue. Call 360-257-6289 for information.
Last chance to register for event
If you want to attend United Way’s 11th annual Spirit of Snohomish County Breakfast you need to sign up. The registration deadline is Monday. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 12 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
This year’s keynote speaker is Lou Tice, chairman of Seattle’s Pacific Institute. Five community volunteers will be honored for their service. Tickets are $25. Call 425-374-5570 for information and reservations.
Gold Bar fundraiser starts Saturday
The annual Gold Bar Fire District 26 fundraiser and garage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 1-3 at the fire station, 42013 U.S. 2. Proceeds buy equipment and supplies for the department. Call 360-793-1978 for information.
Snohomish gallery looking for artists
Arts of Snohomish Gallery in Snohomish is seeking members for its artists association. Artists display their work at the gallery for a $35 monthly fee. All categories of art are considered.
