Arlington: Disaster workshop set
A workshop aimed at helping neighborhoods prepare for disaster is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the City Council Chambers, 110 E. Third St.
Presenters plan to teach participants how to map their neighborhoods for areas of concerns, develop a neighborhood skills and equipment inventory, and create a community contact list. They also plan to outline nine steps to take immediately following a disaster.
The workshop is free and open to everyone.

Granite Falls: Learn about gardening
Master gardener Bob Barca is scheduled to speak tonight about how to keep a garden in the fall and winter.
The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Granite Falls Library, 815 E. Galena St.
The use of fountains, ponds, waterfalls, shrubs and even the bark from trees will be demonstrated in a slide show and discussion.

Marysville: Learn to recognize a stroke
A free presentation today provides tips on recognizing the first signs of stroke.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Ken Baxter Senior-Community Center in Comeford Park, 514 Delta Ave.
The presentation by Lifeline Screening addresses the first-hand effects of this disease as well as aneurysms, artery disease and more.
