Arlington: Register now for fall classes
Classes including “The Wisdom of Herbs,” “Painting Makeovers” and CPR are being offered by the city of Arlington this fall. Registration fees vary from free to $50.

Granite Falls: Silvertips to visit
Members of the Everett Silvertips hockey team are scheduled to visit Monte Cristo Elementary School in Granite Falls on Monday as part of the Kick-off for Literacy Campaign.
The team’s appearance is scheduled for an assembly at 9:30 a.m. at the school, 1201 100th St. NE.
Mayor Lyle Romack will welcome the Silvertips players. In keeping with the pirate theme of the school’s library this year, players plan to read a story and talk about how hockey players, like pirates, may be tough guys, but they aren’t bullies and they love to read.

Marysville: Sign up for youth basketball
Registration for the Marysville Youth Basketball League runs through Oct. 6.
The parks and recreation office at Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Road, will be open extended hours: from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Oct. 5 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6.
Practices begin the first week of December and games start the first week of January. Volunteer coaches are needed.
Fees are $66 for the first family member and $60 for each additional family member.

Stanwood: Stroke seminar Wednesday
A seminar on winning the war on strokes is scheduled for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Stanwood Community and Senior Center, 7430 276th Street NW.
Information on strokes, abdominal aorta aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease and osteoporosis is expected to be presented. Screening tests will be available for a fee. The seminar is free.
