Everett: Riverside cleanup Saturday
The Riverside Neighborhood Association is holding a neighborhoodwide cleanup from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Old couches, yard waste and wood scraps are among the items that can be dumped in a bin that will be set up at North Middle School’s south parking lot on the corner of 26th Street and Rainier Avenue. The program is only for Riverside residents, and you’ll have to show I.D. proving your address before you can dump junk.
The Riverside neighborhood is bounded by 19th Street to the north, the Snohomish River to the east, Pacific Avenue to the south and Broadway to the west.
Items that won’t be accepted include appliances, electronics, household chemicals, car parts, household garbage and concrete.
If you can pitch in with refreshments, picking up items for neighbors or traffic control, call 425-257-3717.
Free parking offered for Silvertips games
Having trouble finding parking downtown on hockey game nights? The city of Everett has a few solutions.
Everpark Garage, 2815 Hoyt Ave., now offers free parking on game nights.
Everett Transit also runs a shuttle for 50 cents from Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave., to Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center when the Everett Silvertips play.
No fare is collected on the return trip, and parking at Everett Station is ample and free.
The first shuttle of the evening leaves Everett Station 1 hour and 20 minutes before game time, with service every 15 minutes. The last shuttle leaves about 10 minutes after the puck hits the ice.
There are two return trips from the Everett events center. The first trip departs about 10 minutes after the game ends.
