Police seek espresso stand robbery suspect
EVERETT — Police are searching for a man who robbed an espresso stand last month on Highway 99 near Everett.
The man walked up to the barista about 6 p.m. Oct. 10 and demanded money. He kept his hands in his pockets and moved them around, as if he was carrying a weapon. No weapon was seen.
The man ran off when a customer approached the stand. He didn’t get any cash. Detectives believe he may have driven off in a vehicle parked nearby.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s. He is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with an average build. He had dark blond hair and a goatee. He was wearing a red baseball cap and a black-hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 425-388-3845.
Mill Creek: Council wants money for roads
Roadwork worth $130 million should be fast-tracked, including $40 million for improvements near 164th Street near I-5 and Mill Creek, the Snohomish County Council announced Tuesday.
The projects would improve congestion for 164th Street, council members said in a statement. The road is so clogged that the county banned most future development from putting more cars between I-5 and Mill Creek.
The money for the program would come from property taxes collected from new construction, and bolstered by cash from selling the county’s property on Cathcart Way.
To finance the projects, the county could sell bonds at low interest rates soon, council members said. A hearing is planned for Nov. 19.
