We should teach parenting skills

If Michael Vick is widely reviled as a brutal degenerate for his involvement in dog fighting, what does that say about those so-called humans who abuse children, some of which results in the death of the child? I would say that abusing humans is far more despicable than abusing animals, wouldn’t you?
Behavioral experts say child abuse is preventable through parenting skills education. When are we going to make parental skills part of the mandatory high school curriculum? Few of our kids are going to become doctors or engineers; almost all will become parents.
Vick was just sentenced to 23 months in prison for his treatment of dogs. At the very least a few years’ prison time should be the minimum for these losers who abuse children. Consider it part of their education.
Child abuse is a widespread and growing problem for society as a whole with long-term affects, especially on the victim. It’s way past time for action on this problem.
