The first Snohomish County baby born in the New Year was named after her father’s stepmother. A story on Page B1 on Wednesday incorrectly stated the girl was named after a different person.

Dustin Robert Powell is accused of killing 18-year-old James Carlberg by stabbing him in the chest. Prosecutors also alleged that a 15-year-old struck Carlberg with a club during the attack. A story on Page B8 in Monday’s paper misidentified who was attacked.
