ARLINGTON — A 3-month old boy died Friday after he stopped breathing at his Arlington home.

The cause of the infant’s death was not immediately clear, said Kristin Banfield, a city of Arlington spokeswoman.

Emergency dispatchers were called around 4 p.m. to W. Marion Street with reports that the baby wasn’t breathing, she said.

Arlington Fire paramedics took the infant to Cascade Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead, she said.

Police were called to investigate the death which is standard procedure when a child dies, Banfield said.

“We’ve had a death, we need to investigate and find out what happened,” she said. “That’s our job, and so that’s what the police department is doing.”
