Mariner boys fall in state opener

TACOMA — The Mariner High School boys’ basketball team lost its opening game at the Class 4A state tournament on Wednesday, falling to Lincoln 61-53 in the Tacoma Dome.

The loss dropped the Marauders (18-7) into the consolation round. They play Franklin (21-3) at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in a loser-out contest.
