Room Nine visiting days set
Because of overwhelming interest in The Room Nine Program, an additional Visiting Day has been added. Visiting is one of the requirements to be eligible for the lottery. The remaining Visiting Days are Monday, Feb 24th &Tuesday, March 4, both at 9:10AM. The lottery will take place on March 7th.

to nat’l assembly
Shoreline Community College President Holly Moore is one of 60 national leaders invited to this year’s American Assembly on “Achieving Worker Success and Business Prosperity: The New Role for Workforce Intermediaries.” Leaders from both the public and private sectors were invited to the assembly to create a national strategy for building a better workforce that meets the continuing needs of both the unemployed and industry. The Assembly, affiliated with Columbia University, will convene in New York Feb. 6-9.

February arts events set at SCC
The 2003 Opera Workshop Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 and 28 and March 1 in the Campus Theater.
The workshop features operatic scenes with piano accompaniment, and Suor Angelica by Giacomo Puccini, performed with chamber orchestra. Susan Dolacky is the producer and musical director; Ann Arends is director and Teresa Metzger Howe is conductor. General admission is $12, $10 for seniors and $8 for children 14 and younger and SCC students with college ID. Call 206-546-4606 to order tickets or purchase at the door.
Sims looking
for Earth heroes
King County Executive Ron Sims is looking for teachers, students staff, programs or even entire schools who are doing exceptional work on behalf of the local environment for this year’s Earth Heroes at Schools event.
Nomination forms are available on King County’s Earth Legacy web site at www. metrokc.gov/ earthlegacy or by calling Linda Howard at 206-296-4432. Nominations will be accepted until March 21, 2003. Award winners will be acknowledged at an award ceremony in My 2003.
ACT exam deadline coming
The next nationwide test date for high school students who want to take the ACT Assessment is April 12, 2003. The registration postmark deadline is March 7. Late registration postmark deadline is March 21.
