MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Two Mountlake Terrace homes were damaged Dec. 18 after an SUV crashed into them.
The driver of the SUV first clipped the corner of one home in the 22600 block of 56th Avenue West before it lodged itself into another, according to Leslie Hynes, spokesperson for Snohomish County Fire District 1.
No one was inside either home at about 2:45 p.m., the time of the incidents.
The driver, a Lynnwood woman, and her 6-year-old son, who was in the passenger’s seat, were both taken to Harborview.
According to Mountlake Terrace Police Sgt. Craig McCaul, a witness following behind the vehicle thought it was going a little over the speed limit and just started to slowly drift off the road before it careened into the two homes.
McCaul said officers interviewed the woman at the hospital and she had no recollection how or what had happened. McCaul added, while the woman, who does have insurance, was screened for drugs and/alcohol, there was no evidence that they were involved.
