50 years ago (1958)
Ada McKenzie of the Everett High School faculty gave information on the fundamentals of writing to Rosanne l’Anson and Larry Whemoefer. They were competing in the Citizen Essay Contest under way at the school.
Admission to the Everett High School PTA’s Corn Night was free. The show would open with an automotive number featuring a car owned by Mike Moore. Also in the act were Jack Alleckson, Frank Ring, Larry Pirkle, Tom Vanderbrug, Freda Groenveld, Mary Lankford, Laurey Knudson and Judy Barbour. The Juniorettes — Linda Randulson, Danny Wahlberg, David Randulson, Casey Barnett, Carol Heatveit, Carol Williams and Jim Sherman — would play guitars and accordions.
25 years ago (1983)
Nature Made was having a two-for-one vitamin sale. The offer was good at Snohomish Drug and Community Pharmacy in Snohomish, Larry’s Pharmacy in Mukilteo, Tri-Valley Pharmacy in Monroe, Darrington Pharmacy in Darrington and Plaza Drugs in Mountlake Terrace.
The following boys and girls were local winners in the Cappy Dick Young Hobby Club rhyming clues puzzle contest: Pearl Goodrich, Keith DeLisle, Tina DeLisle, Melanie Showlund, Rene Showlund and Tina Cooper, all of Everett; Greyson Steinborn, Heide Forsman and Mike Remle, all of Arlington; and Benji Butler of Darrington.
