Volunteer with citizens patrol
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is looking for people who want to volunteer with the sheriff’s Citizens Patrol.
Volunteers perform a variety of functions, including patrolling neighborhoods, providing crime prevention information, reporting suspicious activity, conducting park-and-ride checks, and enforcing disabled parking rules.
Volunteers work between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. For more information, call Ray Baron at 425-388-3082.
Walk Me Home for foster kids
North Sound Foster Parents joins a nationwide fundraiser called “Walk Me Home … to the Place I Belong” from 8 to 10 a.m. May 3 at the Everett Mall.
“The North Sound Foster Parents and SafeKids are very excited to participate in Walk Me Home,” event chairwoman Anna Kagley said. “More than 500,000 children are in foster care and they desperately need our help and support, as do the caring adults who care for these children.”
To participate in the event, walkers must collect at least $30 in donations. Upon completing the course, each walker will tie a blue ribbon to a tree. Blue ribbons symbolize children in foster care and are used during National Foster Care Month in May. Walkers can participate as individuals or on teams.

Ambulance group volunteers sought
Darrington Volunteer Ambulance Association meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at 1115 Seeman St., Darrington.
The association needs more volunteers and invites those who are interested in serving to attend the meeting. For more info, call 360-436-0357.
Arc offers safety fair Saturday
The Arc of Snohomish County has organized an education and safety fair for families with children with developmental disabilities.
