Mayor to discuss community issues

Discuss community issues with Edmonds Mayor Gary Haakenson in a neighborhood meeting set for this week.

The meeting is 7 p.m. Thursday at Edmonds Elementary School, 1215 Olympic Ave.

Lake Stevens

Learn about library district annexation plan

Tonight, city administrator Jan Berg is scheduled to discuss the possible annexation of the city into the Sno-Isle Library District.

She will speak during a meeting of the Lake Stevens Arts Commission planned for 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Annex, behind City Hall at 1812 Main St.

Voters will determine in a May 20 election if city property owners should pay a tax directly to the library district for service, as opposed to having the city government pay a contract fee.

Donations sought for clothing charity

A clothing pantry that serves children from low-income families in Snohomish County is in need of donations.

Clothes for Kids based in Lynnwood is seeking donations of socks, underwear, children’s shoes and pants or money to buy the clothing.

The nonprofit organization provides clothing and school supplies to children of all ages, at no cost to families. The organization depends on donations.
