Tanker watch continues

Sometime either today or tomorrow, we’ll find out what the GAO thinks of Boeing’s protest of a $35 billion aerial refueling tanker contract.
The fight between Boeing and Northrop-EADS looks like it could go on regardless of the GAO decision – or, at least, that’s the gist of our story today.
Pentagon officials yesterday said any additional delay to the program would cause a “real problem” for the Air Force, AFP reports.
Don’t forget to vote in our online poll about how the tanker dispute will be resolved. As of this morning, it looks like the leading sentiment is that the Air Force contract will be re-bid. About 36 percent of you voted for that. The GAO and Congress are a close second and third, with 24 and 22 percent respectively. We’ll keep the poll open until the ruling comes out.
