Deck collapse in Everett causes minor injuries

Three people were injured this afternoon when a deck collapsed in Everett.

The deck became detached from an older single family house in the 3800 block of Friday Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.

Several people were on the 8-by-13-feet deck when it collapsed, but only three received minor injuries, Everett Fire Marshal Glen Martinsen said. The deck apparently separated from the ledger board that held it to the house and slid away, Martinsen said. He was unsure of the deck’s height and didn’t have more information on the injured.
