Why color was missing Sunday

A mechanical malfunction forced The Herald to run some pages in the Sunday newspaper in black-and-white only. The front pages and most of the sections of the newspaper customarily use color photos. We apologize for any disappointment this problem may have caused our readers.

The Herald expects to resume running color on most of its section-front pages today.
