HOCKENHEIM, Germany — Toyota driver Timo Glock was taken to the hospital Sunday after hitting a concrete barrier at high speed during the German Grand Prix.

Glock was accelerating through the hairpin at turn No. 12 when his rear suspension appeared to snap. The car span across the track and went backward into the opposite wall.

The 26-year-old German, who had completed 35 laps, emerged from his destroyed car clutching his back, while appearing winded.
