SPEEA rejects economic offer from Boeing supplier Spirit

SPEEA just announced that its members in Wichita, Kan., voted down a mid-contract economic offer by Spirit AeroSystems.

“The company made promises to the SPEEA negotiation teams and employees about having one company and one plan,” said BJ Moore, SPEEA contract administrator. “Those promises were broken.”

The union represents 3,859 engineers and technical workers at Spirit, a key Boeing Co. supplier. SPEEA also heads into contract with Boeing here in the Puget Sound region later this year. It represents roughly 20,000 workers in the area.

I just filed this story.
