Warm Beach
Volunteer and part-time firefighters sought
North County Fire and EMS is accepting applications for volunteer and part-time firefighting positions.
North County firefighters and paramedics serve an area of more than 100 square miles of north Snohomish County.
They respond to emergencies such as fires, vehicle collisions, aircraft crashes, medical emergencies and water rescues, Battalion Chief Christian Davis said.
Applications may be picked up at the fire district’s office at 19727 Marine Drive, Stanwood, or downloaded at www.northcountyfireems.com.
Applications are due by Sept. 8.

Summerfest coming to Warm Beach Saturday
Summerfest 2008 is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Warm Beach Community Park.
The free event is set to include children’s games such as three-legged races, elephant walk and tug-of-war.
There will also be a silent auction and food vendors.
The park is at 19016 94th St. The event is sponsored by the Warm Beach Community Association.

Survey to help city plan for community needs
Stanwood Community and Senior Center is asking those who live in the area to complete a short survey designed to help the city of Stanwood and the center plan for future needs in the community.
The survey is on the center’s Web site, www.stanwoodseniorcenter.org, where you can select the Community Needs Survey.

Camano Island
Car show and flea market with barbecue
The 17th annual Collectors Car Show and Flea Market is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Camano Senior and community Center.
The center is at 606 Arrrowhead Road on Camano Island.
The event, geared toward families, also includes entertainment by the Rockaway Beach Band and a barbecue
Proceeds from the event benefit the center’s programs for seniors.
