If you like both, then endorse both

I read with interest your Aug. 3 “endorsement” for Position 6 for Superior Court judge. It seems you chose George Appel over Joe Wilson and, yet, you state Mr. Wilson is well qualified to be a Superior Court judge and you would have chosen him if your candidate was not in the race. Is that a very good reason?

Certainly Mr. Wilson has been volunteering years longer than your candidate in the community and legal profession, appeared before the state Supreme Court twice and won a favorable decision, and been a pro-tem judge on a district level. You do not state what your candidate has done along these lines.

It seems you think highly of both candidates. A better editorial would have been for your newspaper to recommend two candidates and tell the voters they must decide.
