Man jailed for alleged assault

MARYSVILLE — Police arrested a suspect Tuesday in connection with an assault near a gas station in Lakewood last week.
Detectives arrested a 39-year-old Snohomish County man for allegedly beating a 49-year-old Marysville man with a baseball bat, Marysville police Cmdr. Ralph Krusey said in a press release.
The assault happened behind a Shell gas station on Aug. 21.
The victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with head injuries. He was later released, Krusey said.
Krusey said the investigation revealed the attack wasn’t random.
The suspect, whose name hasn’t been released, was booked into Snohomish County jail Tuesday morning.
