Wine festival helps EvCC Foundation

Tickets are still available for the regional wine festival “Gusto!”

The event is 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 13 at Comcast Arena at Everett, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Suite 200, Everett.

The event features more than 100 Northwest wines, 20 fine restaurants, specialty foods and select microbrews.

Volunteers needed for county tourism

The Snohomish County Tourism Board is currently looking for volunteer travel counselors to promote Everett and the county. Volunteer hosts are needed for large events such as 2008 Skate America this October.

The Everett Visitor Information Center has three- to four-hour shifts available Monday through Saturday, with extra shifts as needed for special events. Knowledge of Everett and Snoho­mish County is helpful but not required. Call 425-322-2646.

Peter Pan coming to Arlington school

The Arlington High School drama department hopes to take to the skies with this fall’s production of the musical “Peter Pan.”

“We’re planning a production that will take theater in Arlington to the rafters, and do justice to the outstanding quality of the Linda Byrnes Performing Arts Center,” said Scott Moberly, the high school’s theater teacher.
