Immaculate Conception School holds pet blessing

Immaculate Conception School in Everett held a pet blessing Thursday. Blessings of animals occur around the world on or near Oct. 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

On Thursday, Jeanette White brought her dog Ginger to be blessed by the Rev. Bryan Hersey, pastor of Immaculate Conception Our Lady of Perpetual Help School.

Camano Chapel breaks ground for new building

The Camano Chapel, a nondenominational Christian church located at 867 SW Camano Drive on Camano Island, recently held a construction dedication for a new two-story, 25,900 square-foot Christian education building.

The chapel recently broke ground for the building, which is designed to provide additional space for programs such as Awana, Mothers of Preschoolers, adult Bible fellowship, the Camano Bible Training Center, the Lighthouse Home-school Co-op and Bible studies.

Once completed, the new building will free up space in the church’s existing Christian Education Building to better accommodate junior high and senior high youth programs. It will include a safe environment for infants and toddlers. The church also plans to use the building for community programs such as basketball and community meetings.

Camano Chapel, which has existed for 57 years, plans to complete the new building without incurring debt, a goal the chapel has had for all of its building projects.

Camano Chapel services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday with Sunday school and Adult fellowship classes at 9:45 a.m.

Kris Kramer, Mich Michl and Steve Redfern, pastors, along with their staff and congregation welcome the community.
