EVERETT — Hundreds of kids from several schools are expected to attend the 2008 College and Career Fair on Wednesday.

The event features 140 representatives from colleges and workplaces. The exhibitors include universities, community colleges, career training programs, trade and apprenticeship programs, local businesses, and industry employers.

The theme is “What about tomorrow?”

“It’s a rare opportunity for our students to access this volume of information regarding career options in one setting,” said Karen Sullivan, the student record coordinator for the Everett School District. She helped organize the event, which is being held at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave.

The first portion of the fair, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is closed to the public. Schools are bringing students to browse the fair’s offerings and talk with representatives.

The event is open to the public from 2 to 6 p.m.

Admission is free.

The fair is being sponsored by the Workforce Development Council of Snohomish County and the Arlington, Edmonds, Everett, Lakewood and Mukilteo school districts.
