Churches hold service project
Operation Serve Marysville, a coalition of area churches that work on community service projects, is planning a cleanup at Asbery Field today.
Volunteers are scheduled to gather from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the field, across the street from Totem Middle School at 1605 Seventh St.
More than 250 volunteers plan to remove a chain-link fence and old bleachers at the field and to lay new grass, plant trees and shrubs, and reseed and level the field.
Earlier this year, several churches joined forces to pull weeds, lay bark and plant shrubs along a stretch of Fourth Street.
