MountainCrest Credit union opens branch in Lynnwood

Members of MountainCrest Credit Union can use a new branch that opened earlier this month in Lynnwood.

Before the branch opened, members living in south Snohomish County who wanted to talk to a teller had to drive to branches in Arlington, Everett, Marysville or Monroe.

The credit union wanted to serve those customers better, said Beth Corsaro-Jarvis, a spokeswoman for MountainCrest.

Two area credit unions merged to form MountainCrest: the Snohomish County PUD Credit Union and Educational Community Credit Union. After the merger, the credit union closed a branch in the Silver Lake area of Everett.

Members expressed a need for a branch in a south part of the county, said Corsaro-Jarvis. MountainCrest is on mission to provide better service, she said.

The credit union worked out a deal with All City Credit Union to lease one of its teller stations. MountainCrest members can use one teller window at All City Credit Union 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 19725 40th Ave. W., Suite A, Lynnwood. MountainCrest may lease more windows, Corsaro-Jarvis said.

“The options for future windows depends on the volume of business MountainCrest experiences on that end of town,” she said.

MountainCrest is a nonprofit cooperative with $90 million in assets and nearly 15,000 member-owners throughout Snohomish County.
