‘Vampire Academy’ author to speak

Richelle Mead, author of the teen book series “Vampire Academy,” as well as several books for adults, will visit the Mukilteo Library at 4 p.m. Thursday at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd., Mukilteo.

Mead will talk about her books, answer questions and share ideas on improving your own creative writing.

Images, stories of agriculture’s future

“Feeding the Future: Stories, Images and Ideas from the Frontier of Food and Agriculture,” with farmer, author and photographer Michael Ableman, at the Cascade Harvest Coalition at 6 p.m. Friday, Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave., Everett. Admission is $15 for nonmembers and $10 for members.

Historical society offers walking tour

The Snohomish Historical Society offers a 90-minute guided walking tour of the historic downtown business district Saturday.

Meet at 10 a.m. at the visitors center, 1301 First St., Snohomish.

The tour will be guided by local historian Warner Blake, author of “Early Snohomish.”
