Monroe volleyball star named All-American

Kylin Munoz, a senior outside hitter from Monroe High School, was named a first-team All-American on Wednesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
The 6-foot-1 Munoz is one of 24 players from around the country picked for the third annual Under Armour All-American High School Volleyball Team. She will be invited to participate in the inaugural Under Armour All-America High School Volleyball Match and Skills Competition Dec. 21 in Omaha, Neb.

Munoz, who has accepted a volleyball scholarship from Brigham Young University, and her Monroe teammates are scheduled to compete beginning Friday at the Class 4A state tournament in Kennewick.
