Arlington

Practice burn scheduled to train area firefighters

Arlington Fire Department, along with neighboring fire districts in Silvana, Arlington Heights and Oso, plan to participate in a practice burn Sunday on a house located at 21117 59th Ave. NE and Highway 530.

Training has been ongoing this week at the house, which is set to be burned down early Sunday morning.

While motorists on the highway should not be at risk, wind conditions could send smoke across the road and create a traffic slowdown as drivers view the scene, fire department spokeswoman Chris Badger said.
