Stanwood detouring highway traffic

STANWOOD – Stanwood city officials later this afternoon plan to close the eastbound lanes of Highway 532 in downtown Stanwood.

The closure is expected around 4:30 p.m. The eastbound lane will detour through downtown streets, Stanwood Assistant Fire Chief Darin Reid said.

The westbound lane will remain open.

The closure comes as city crews continue to strengthen and widen the berm placed along the highway to keep the water from spilling into downtown.
