Fire sirens

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 248 calls the week of Jan. 1-7.
Jan. 5
District 1 crews responded to 33 calls: 29 emergency medical aid calls, two motor vehicle collisions, three fires, one service call, one carbon monoxide alarm and one fire alarm.
At 5:52 a.m., firefighters came to the aid of a woman who became trapped under her car in the 3200 block of 226th Pl. SW in Brier. The woman slipped in the snow as she was trying to push her car into the road, and became trapped under the rear of the vehicle when it rolled up next to her after she fell. Firefighters used inflatable air bags to lift the vehicle and free the woman. She was transported by medic unit to Stevens Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
At 6:46 a.m., firefighters responded to a van that went off the road at 112th St. SW and Meridian Pl. W and ripped a power transformer box from its base, exposing power lines, before coming to rest with the front half of the van hanging over a frozen storm-water retention pond. Firefighters verified the two occupants were uninjured and advised them to remain in the van until PUD secured the power. Once the power was off, the two occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle on their own.
At 6:49 p.m., firefighters responded to a chimney fire in Mountlake Terrace at a home at 234th St. SW and 51st Ave. W.
At 8:11 p.m., firefighters responded to a chimney fire in Mountlake Terrace at a home in the 4800 block of 242nd St. SW.
Jan. 6
District 1 crews responded to 46 calls: 36 emergency medical aid calls, five fires, two motor vehicle collisions, one service call and two fire alarms.
At 3:45 a.m., firefighters responded to a car fire in the 18500 block of 9th Ave. W.
At 6:38 a.m., firefighters responded to a four-car collision on southbound I-5 south of I-405. En route, they also encountered a three-car collision and a two-car collision on the same stretch of I-5. There were no injuries in the collisions.
Jan. 7
District 1 crews responded to 32 calls: 22 emergency medical aid calls, three motor vehicle collisions, two fires, two service calls, one natural gas leak and two fire alarms.
At 1:01 a.m., firefighters responded to a truck fire in the 6200 block of St. Albion Way in Mountlake Terrace.
At 7:44 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-car, head-on collision at 164th St. SW and 36th Ave. W. No one was injured.
At 10:40 p.m., firefighters took one patient to Stevens Hospital after responding to a hit-and-run collision on southbound I-5 south of 164th St. SW.
