EdCC to broadcast the inauguration

Join folks at Edmonds Community College to watch the presidential inauguration at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Black Box Theatre.

The Office of Student Life will provide coffee and pastries before the show in the lobby of Mukilteo Hall, 20000 68th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.

MLK Day holiday closures today

It’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here are some resulting closures:

Government: Federal, state and most local offices are closed.

Schools: Closed.

Post offices: Closed, although express mail service continues.

Commerce: Most businesses are open, but most banks are closed.

Transportation: Community Transit and Sound Transit are on regular schedules, but some commuter routes will be canceled. Everett Transit is on a regular schedule. For ferry information, go to www. wsdot.wa.gov/ferries or call 888-808-7977.

Nursing career fair at UW Bothell

The University of Washington’s Bothell campus offers a sixth annual Nursing Career Advancement Day Fair at 11 a.m. Tuesday at 18115 Campus Way NE in Bothell.

Representatives from more than 20 Washington state health care employers and educational institutions will be available at the fair to discuss nursing career and educational opportunities.

The event is free.

Aging well class in Mill Creek

The Mill Creek Senior Center offers a free class on aging well. The class runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month through March 17 at the Washington State University Extension Conference Room, McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
