Benefit is planned for VOA food bank

A benefit is planned Saturday to benefit the Volunteers of America food bank.

It’s planned for 3 to 7 p.m. at Madison Avenue Pub, 905 Madison St., Everett.

Dave Brooks of Everett is helping organize the party. He owns ­Glassact and will donate several art pieces for a silent auction.

Ron Stanger, owner of Madison Avenue Pub, will provide the food and give proceeds to the food bank.

There will be a Wii bowling tournament. Bring nonperishable food items to donate.

Chicken dinner returns to Stilly

The Stillaguamish Senior Center’s center’s popular monthly old-fashioned chicken dinner was suspended this fall while the hall was closed for repairs.

Now, the dinner is back with chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salad, dessert and a beverage served from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington

The dinner does not require reservations. Entertainment during the meal is planned. Dinner costs $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children.

Volunteers are needed for the dinner and a number of other programs at the center, including bingo games at 7 p.m. on Fridays and 11 a.m. on Tuesdays.

Dance with your Valentine, Feb. 14

A Love for All Ages Valentine’s Dance is planned for Valentine’s Day. Disc jockey Bob Justice will play favorites. The suggested dress is semi-formal. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Dance at 6 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Lake Stevens Senior Center, 2302 Soper Hill Road.

Make a reservation by calling 425-335-0345. The suggested donation is $5 and proceeds benefit the Family Center’s Youth Advisory Council and the senior center.

Volunteers sought for service board

Village Community Services in Arlington needs volunteers for its board of directors.

The nonprofit agency is looking for people who believe in the rights and potential of people with disabilities and want to work toward inclusion in the work force and community. The board of directors meets the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
