Everett and Lynnwood cops join prostitution crackdown

SEATTLE — Police from Everett and Lynnwood participated in a national crackdown on teenage prostitution Friday night, part of an FBI effort known as the Innocence Lost National Initiative.
No arrests were made in Snohomish County and none of the people snared in the sting appear to live here, said Robbie Burroughs, an FBI spokeswoman in Seattle
Nearly 50 people were arrested in Seattle, Kent and Tacoma. Of those arrested, 10 were juvenile girls, 35 were women and three were pimps.
Nationally, the operation included enforcement operations in 29 cities and led to the recovery of 48 girls who were engaged in prostitution. Additionally, 571 people were arrested on a combination of state and federal charges for the domestic trafficking of children for prostitution and solicitation, officials said.
Everett and Lynnwood police are part of the task force that operates regionally. Future enforcement action likely could take place in Snohomish County, Burroughs said.
