King’s falls to Zillah, faces Toledo this afternoon

Bayli Ziegler and Rosebud Guthrie each scored 12 points as Zillah cruised past King’s 45-27 on Wednesday, March 4, in the opening round of the Class 1A girls state tournament at the Yakima SunDome.

Alisi Uasike added 11 points for the Leopards (20-4), who took the lead for good with a 16-3 run in the second quarter that put them up 28-14 at the half. King’s never got closer.

Alison McConnaughey led King’s (11-15) with 11 points and nine rebounds.

King’s faces Toledo at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5 in a loser-out consolation game at the Yakima SunDome.
