A strong first half wasn’t enough for the Mariner High School boys basketball team on Friday as the Marauders lost to Redmond 44-38 in a loser-out game at the Class 4A state tournament in the Tacoma Dome.
Mariner led21-13 at the halftime but sputtered down the stretch. Redmond took its first lead of the second half with 4:26 left in the game and never trailed again, hitting six free throws in the final 1:09 to hold off Mariner.
Tevin Dillon and Michael Minor each had 10 points but combined to shoot just 7-of-24 from the field for the Marauders.
