50 YEARS AGO (1959)

KRKO disc jockey Dan Dillon witnessed a record goof when the Drum Recording Co. sent him 5,000 complimentary recordings of “My Only Love” by the Silvertones and Bill Baker’s “Tell Me Little Darling.” It was estimated that each record normally lasted a week. At this rate they had a 416-year supply of these two songs.

Snoline YMCA was to have ground-breaking ceremonies for its headquarters building later this month, it was announced by Norman Beers, executive director. Beers said the campaign to raise $12,500 for the building passed the halfway mark this week when donations exceeded $6,000. It would be at 212th Street SW and 76th Avenue W.

25 YEARS AGO (1984)

Indoor soccer was coming to Everett. The newest mecca for the sport, the Everett “Soccerdome,” at 2201 California St., would open later this month. The building, which once housed a skating rink and, more recently, the Everett Athletic Club, was being converted into a soccer facility.

Recently graduating from the International Air Academy in Vancouver, Wash., were Brenda Breckenridge of Snohomish, Debbie Francke of Edmonds and Steve Hoehner of Granite Falls.
