PREP ROUNDUP: Track, soccer, baseball

YAKIMA — The Jackson High School boys and girls track teams had an impressive showing at the Don Holder Relays at Eisenhower High School on Saturday. The Marysville-Pilchuck boys and girls weren’t too shabby either.

Jackson’s boys finished second, as did the Marysville girls. Jackson’s girls finished fourth, and the Tomahawk boys were ninth.

“We had a real good day,” Tomahawks head coach Randy Davis said.

South Whidbey’s Andy Bennett earned a first place finish in the 300 hurdles, as did Cedarcrest’s Freddie Stevens in the shot put.

Two M-P girls earned first place finishes: Lauren Ainsworth in the 2K steeplechase, and Jenna Walsh for javelin.

Kent-Meridian Invite: At Kent, In early results for the Kent-Meridian Invite, Kamiak’s Gage Donovan placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 41 feet 61/2 inches. Shelly Davis finished second in the 1600, as did the girls 3200 relay team which consisted of Davis, Stephanie Moore, Amber Hambrecht, and Annemarie Wegley.

South Whidbey 9, Friday Harbor 0: At Langley, South Whidbey’s Jeff Brasko had a hat trick on Saturday, and Dino Michaelidies, Noah Moller and Henry Mead had one goal a piece for the Falcons. Friday Harbor also scored two own goals, and the final South Whidbey (1-3-0) goal was not reported. Kegan Harshman was in goal for South Whidbey. Friday Harbor’s record and goal keeper were not reported.

Baseball
