Engagements
Olson and Koncoski
Joseph Anthony Koncoski and Linnaea Marie Olson, both of Marysville, plan a June 9 wedding at the Everett Yacht Club.
Their parents are Paula Olson and the late John Olson, and David and Denyce Koncoski of Marysville.
The couple were introduced by a friend of Linnaea’s mother. Their first date was at Lombardi’s in Everett.
Joseph is a Realtor for Century 21. Linnaea works at The Everett Clinic.
Joseph proposed to Linnaea in front of family and friends in March while visiting Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop.
Geissler and Butler
Lindsay Jane Geissler and Simon Joseph Butler, both of Everett, plan an Aug. 28 wedding at Swan’s Trail Farms in Snohomish.
Their parents are Cynthia Geissler-Turner and David Turner, and Dennis and Kristine Geissler, and Al and Sue Butler, and Teresa Spoon.
Lindsay and Simon have known each other since middle school. They went through several years of not liking each other very much but eventually became friends in 2003. Simon formally proposed to Lindsay on Valentine’s Day after talking with Lindsay’s parents.
Dale and Loquvam
U.S. Army Second Lt. Katie Lynn Dale and Second Lt. Joshua Richard Loquvam are planning a May 23 wedding in Snohomish.
Their parents are Michael and Doris Dale, and David and Rebecca Loquvam.
Katie is a 2004 Monroe High School graduate and a 2008 Washington State University graduate. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental soil science.
Joshua is a 2004 graduate of Timberline High School and a 2008 graduate of WSU. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science.
Both Katie and Joshua will serve in the Army at Fort Hood, Texas.
Anniversaries
Mobeck
Kelly and Ben Mobeck Jr. celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14 in Las Vegas, Nev.
The couple were married April 2, 1994, in Reno, Nevada.
Ben proposed to Kelly at a bowling alley by getting down on one knee. He repeated that gesture in Las Vegas and gave Kelly a new ring. He asked for another 15 years with her. During their trip Ben got his wedding ring tattooed on his finger. He works on tug boats and can’t wear a ring for safety reasons.
Kelly says that she is blessed to have Ben as her partner. He is patient, understanding and compassionate.
100th Birthday
Dorothy Wallgren
Dorothy Bacon Barcott Wallgren of Mukilteo celebrated her 100th birthday at 2 p.m. March 27 with a party at Harbour Pointe Retirement and Assisted Living Center.
Dorothy was born March 25, 1909, in West Seattle. She graduated from high school and nursing school in St. Louis, Mo. Dorothy received her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1936 at the University of Washington.
She enjoyed a long career at what is now called Harborview Medical Center, and was a founding member of Providence Hospital’s Volunteer Auxiliary in 1967.
She was married to Frank Barcott and Lloyd Wallgren and has three children, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy’s 100th birthday cake was chocolate, her favorite. It was baked by John Auburn of JW Desserts. Auburn was a recent winner of the Food Network’s Cake Challenge.
Dorothy says that her 100 years of experience, the good and the bad, have blended together and is all good memories now. She loves where she lives because the people take such good care of her.
Dorothy has always enjoyed golf and still enjoys practice on the putting green on warm days.
