Everett: New date for crow lecture

People might have more in common with crows and ravens than they suspect.

University of Washington science professor John Marzluff is scheduled to give a lecture on homo sapiens’ fear and respect for these coal-black birds of the Corvus genus later this month. The talk is aimed at audiences from the fifth grade to adulthood.

Marzluff coauthored a recent book, “In the Company of Crows and Ravens,” which blends biology, conservation and anthropology to suggest that human and crow cultures have affected one another. Signed copies of this book will be available for purchase.

The talk is 7 p.m. April 29. It costs $5 for Adopt-A-Stream Foundation or Audubon Society members and $7 for nonmembers. For tickets, call 425-316-8592 or e-mail aasf@streamkeeper.org. Advance purchase is required.

The talk will be in Northwest Stream Center auditorium in Snohomish County’s McCollum Park, 600 128th Street SE, Everett.
