EVERETT — The good teams make plays when they must.
Jen Rosie had the biggest of her two hits with the bases loaded in the top of the fourth inning to put Marysville-Pilchuck up for good in a Wesco North game against Everett Tuesday. The Tomahawks went on to win the contest 5-3.
“Marysville’s a good team,” Everett head coach Kyle Peacocke said. “They’re a good hitting team from top to bottom … they’re gonna put the ball in play and force your defense to try to make plays.”
With the bases loaded and two outs, Rosie hit a single to left field to score two runs and then scored herself later in the inning.
Rosie led the way for M-P (3-2 in league, 5-2 overall) finishing 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Courtney Perrine batted 3-for-4 an added an RBI for the Tomahawks.
“It was frustrating from our standpoint … but you credit them,” Peacocke said.
Freshman Lexie Levin was a bright spot for Everett (2-2, 5-3), batting 2-for-3 with two RBI.
“She has played very well for us,” Peacocke said. “It’s pretty amazing what she’s been doing. She’s going to be a great player.”
