MARYSVILLE — A Marysville man who police described as a chronic alcoholic with an extensive criminal history was jailed early Thursday morning for investigation of vehicular assault.
Around 8:30 p.m. a caller told police that the man, 43, appeared to be drunk and was in a car in the 5300 block of 91st Street NE, according to a police affidavit.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies found the man about 10 minutes later, but not before he had crashed his car into a pickup truck that was stopped at the intersection of 84th Street NE and 51st Avenue NE, the police report said.
The driver of the pickup temporarily lost his ability to walk and was rushed to a local hospital.
Deputies determined the man who caused the crash was required to have an ignition interlock device and was driving with a suspended license, the report said. He also was wanted on warrants for reckless endangerment, negligent driving and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail after being treated at a hospital.
