AUGUSTA, Ga. — Angel Cabrera scored a par on the 10th hole at the Augusta National Golf Course to beat Kenny Perry in the second hole of a sudden death playoff to win the Green Jacket on Sunday.
Chad Campbell was eliminated from a three-way Masters playoff when he missed a 4-foot par putt at the first extra hole.
Angel Cabrera and Kenny Perry moved on to play another hole after making par at No. 18. Cabrera pulled off a remarkable recovery after hitting his tee shot behind a tree. He whacked his ball back into the fairway, stuck his third shot 8 feet behind the cup and sank the putt.
The 48-year-old Perry, trying to become the oldest major champion in golf history, hit an awful approach short and right of the green, but chipped up for a tap-in par. Campbell hit a nifty shot out of the bunker, but his putt caught the right edge of the cup and lipped out.
Perry and Cabrera moved on to play the 18th hole.
