Lot of baggage
Survey says: Nearly two-thirds of Herald readers responding to an online poll are pretty pessimistic about the future of Boeing in Everett. About 39 percent think the aircraft giant will locate a second 787 line elsewhere, while another 26 percent think Boeing will pack its bags and leave Washington state by 2020.
The other third were confident that when Boeing learns what airlines are charging for checked baggage, the company will change its mind and stay.
Shoe-ins for $200, Alex: A 17-year-old from Canton Township, Mich., has earned perfect scores on the SAT and two other national pre- college tests.
Willa Chen says she plans to attend Princeton University. OK, but we hope she makes a side trip to Culver City, Calif., where “Jeopardy” is taped.
Aha uh-oh: Oprah Winfrey and insurance company Mutual of Omaha are headed for court, both claiming trademark rights to the phrase “aha moment.”
We suggest a settlement: Oprah should be allowed to continue to use “aha moment” as a catch phrase, but she should refrain from uttering, “I’ll stay in the boat while Jim wrestles the alligator.”
