Have your say on what the library cuts

Sno-Isle Libraries has to slash $2.5 million from its budget. This month, the library system is holding public meetings to give people a chance to comment on proposed service cuts.

Sno-Isle budget reduction meetings:

May 21: Oak Harbor Library, 1000 SE Regatta Drive

May 27: Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.

May 28: Stanwood Library, 9701 271st Street NW

June 1: Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave.

Leave food at the mail box: Saturday is the largest one-day food drive in America.

Letter carriers will pick up food bank donations at the mail box Saturday.

The U.S. Postal Service joins the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Campbell Soup Company to support the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive.

Put nonperishable food items in a bag and place it by your mailbox. Your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it to local food banks.

Other sponsors of the drive are Feeding America, United Way of America and the AFL-CIO.

Last year, carriers collected 73 million pounds of food.
