Holiday closures

Here are some Memorial Day closures and schedule changes:

Government: Federal, state and local offices are closed.

Schools: Closed, including colleges.

Post offices: Closed, although express mail service continues.

Commerce: Most businesses and banks are closed. Malls and many retail stores are open.

Transportation: Everett Transit and Community Transit are on Sunday schedules. Information is at www.communitytransit.org. For state ferry information, call 511 or 888-808-7977.

The Herald: Classified advertising and the lobby are closed. For home delivery customer service, call between 7:30 and 11:30 a.m., 425-339-3200.

Honor veterans: Art Farash is a volunteer ambassador for the U.S. Army’s Freedom Team Salute program aimed at thanking all U.S. Army veterans for their service to our country.

Veterans may receive an official commendation package from the secretary of the Army and the Army chief of staff that includes a personalized letter of thanks and a certificate of appreciation, an Army lapel pin, and two U.S. Army decals.

Scholarships available in Arlington: Arlington’s Dollars for Scholars foundation has scholarship applications for Arlington School District upperclassmen.
