Food with a view? Plenty of options

Published 5:34 pm Thursday, May 28, 2009

You know the feeling: It’s a beautiful day and you want to eat outside. To dine alfresco. To soak up the sun.

But a big, black cloud floats overhead, the sun dims and the temperature plummets. Anyone want to go inside?

To bridge the gap between true outdoor eating conditions and the mercurial weather of June, we offer a compromise: restaurants with a view of the water. Tables with a water view feel summery (actually, they feel just fine whatever the season), but you don’t need to bring a blanket.

As a bonus, many of these places offer outdoor seating as well, if your timing is good.

These are just a few obvious choices — if you have a favorite place with a wonderful view or a great outdoor deck or patio, send us a note at features@heraldnet.com for future roundups.

Correction

A listing of restaurants that accompanied a dining review on Page 8 of May 22’s A&E section of The Herald included incorrect information about the hours and price for a fixed-price meal at Emory’s on Silver Lake. Emory’s fixed-price menu is available daily except holidays for $21 if customers are seated before 5:30 p.m. and for $26 for seatings after 5:30 p.m.
